RIESLING Block Three Delicious, Mosel styled Riesling. Ripe, juicy citrus fruits balanced by tangy acidity and a lower alcohol level combined with generous texture and weight, wrapped in moderate sweetness. GOLD MEDAL – Spiegelau International Wine Competition 2011 Winemaking notes 2010 (sold out), 2011 Georges Road Riesling Block Three 2011“Winemaker Kirk Bray has crafted a truly glorious Riesling. Its an aristocratic wine with a strong personality, elegance and balance. The bouquet combines floral notes with citrus and lime. On the palate strong apple/peach/quince flavours. Nothing is overdone – everything is in perfect harmony. Bray has avoided producing an over-sweet wine, the downfall of many a lesser Riesling. A classic.” Christopher Moore – Christchurch Press, 2011 Order this wine now CLICK HERE |

PINOT NOIR Williams Hill From arguable Waipara’s finest terroir for Pinot Noir. Classic hillside vineyard on clay limestone soils. Beautiful fruit, traditionally made and aged in 25% new French oak for 12 months. Georges Road Pinot Noir Williams Hill 2011“This is the best New Zealand Pinot Noir I’ve had in a long time. Winemaker Kirk Bray aged it in old old oak, which enhances the flavour integration rather than overlaying delicate fruit flavours with wood. His preference is to make wines which express the grapes rather than creating big, bold reds. I’d love to taste more local wines like this.” Joelle Thomson - Dominion Post July 2012 Order this wine now CLICK HERE (sorry 2011 sold out) |

PINOT GRIS Selection Superbly aromatic and textured wine. Barrel fermented with natural yeasts and aged on lees, this dry wine is beautifully balanced and food friendly. Winemaking notes 2011(sold out), 2012 Georges Road Pinot Gris Selection 2012 “Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with the faintest blush, pale o rim. The bouquet shows softly full and gentle aromas of ripe pears with honeysuckle richness and fine, minerally notes. Savoury yellow stonefruits and subtle nuances of nuts emerge and are complexed by lifted florals, the nose unfolding plenty of detail and interest. Off-dry to medium, this is full bodied, the flavours of pears, stonefruits and honey expressed with purity, interwoven harmoniously with a rounded, weighty and dense palate. There is good power and body, the mouthfeel near unctuous, the richness enhanced by soft acidity, and a little alcohol generosity also adding to the presence. The flavours and textures are integrated and balanced and carry through to a sustained finish. This is a subtly honied, rich and softly rounded off dry Pinot Gris to match with pate, antipasto and Mediterranean fare over the next 4-5 years.” 5 Stars- Raymond Chan Order this wine now CLICK HERE |
